My friend Rick recently recommended this article to me. It was in the context of world events, but when I read it I thought immediately of all of you and what we’re doing here.

3 Good Things is all about habituation - or the opposite there of.
Habituation, from a psychological perspective, is defined as “the diminishing of a physiological or emotional response to a frequently repeated stimulus.”
If we see the sun set every day, it can be easy to stop noticing the beauty of the setting sun.
If we always have clean water to drink, it can be easy to forget what a privilege it is to have clean water to drink.
Our cars, our dishwashers, our electricity, our lungs, our heartbeats - it’s easy to overlook all of it. And all of it is good. All of it is worthy of our notice. There is so much more.
We are de-habituating here, that’s what we’re doing with 3 Good Things. De-habituating, or restoring our response to a known stimulus.
Restoring our sense of wonder, restoring our sense of awe, restoring our sense of delight. Day by day. Together and apart. You are my good thing everyday. Thank you.
