Thank you for the kind birthday wishes last week, friends!! Your words warmed my heart, and your presence here, sharing good things with each other each day, is the greatest gift.
You may or may not be surprised to know that I’m a little bit shy. Yes it’s true that I will strike up a conversation with almost anyone almost anywhere, but I would always always rather ask about you than talk about me. And yet, on the heels of my birthday - and since there are now more than 11,000 subscribers here at Tell Me 3 Good Things, holy wow! - today seems as good a time as any to step out of my comfort zone and tell you a few things about me that you might not otherwise know. And then maybe you’ll tell me somethings about yourself in the comments? Introductions, of sorts.
Ok, here goes:
First. All of my shoes are red. All of them. For the last 25 years I’ve worn red shoes - red sneakers, red cowboy boots, red Crocs, red Birkenstocks, and more. All of them some shade of red.
Second. My pen of choice is a fountain pen. My father was a collector, and my son revived my his collection a few years back. Since then, we’ve been enjoying my father’s antique pens, and we’ve been collecting our own. I have four or five pens inked up at any one time, and - unsurprisingly - I love to mix my own inks.
Third. I am happiest on the beach with my feet in the sand. And I am an avid collector of beach rocks and shells. I arrange and photograph my collections, and then I return most (though admittedly not all) of my treasures to the beach. You can see examples here, and here.
That seems like enough for now! I hope you’ll tell me something about yourself below.
Monday:
An appointment with a new doctor who I liked very much. And she said everything looks good. Hallelujah.
Dave arranged for AAA to come replace my car battery, which turns out to have been the original battery from 2014.
The first artichokes of the season for dinner tonight. Such a treat.
Now you? Tell me 3 good things? (And something about yourself too!?)
Xo.

I’m the oldest of eight kids; I’m 67 and there are 13 years between me and my baby sister.
1. My baby sister’s breast cancer surgery and reconstruction went well today.

Best day ever and I prepped my middle sister’s garden for May planting while awaiting news of the surgery.
1. I learned fascinating new things about you!
2. The baby chicks are old enough to spend some time outside every day.
3. Dreaming dogs. Particularly our middle dog, who is the most enthusiastic dreamer I’ve ever seen.
